Well if your answer was YES to any of those questions, then on Saturday, October 15 you better A. participate in or B. watch The Neuse River Bridge Run.

This run is for pros, amateurs, families and newbies! You can run or walk the race and you can decide what length you want to compete.

The race website says “The Neuse River Bridge Run is held in 300-year-old historic downtown New Bern, offering magnificent views of the Neuse and Trent Rivers. There’s plenty to do in and around town, including the Havelock Chili Festival on Saturday afternoon. Or, spend some family time touring downtown New Bern, visiting Tryon Palace, or trying one of our delicious eateries.

Participants can choose between a half-marathon, 10K or a 5K course. Walkers may choose between the 10K and 5K routes. All courses are pending USATF certified and runners are timed. New this year: The Neuse River Bridge Run is part of the 2011 Semper Fit Grand Prix Series.

The half-marathon starts at 7 a.m. The 10K race will start promptly at 7:30 a.m. The 5K race will start promptly at 8 a.m. Please arrive at Union Point Park no later than 7:45 a.m. if you are running the 5K. Race day registration and pre-registration packet pickup will close at 6:30 a.m. Don’t forget to allow time for parking!”
